Fruselva continues to grow in Latin America

by | Feb 26, 2025 | Corporate News

At Fruselva we continue to consolidate our presence in Latin America with two key projects: the expansion of our Megafactory in Colombia and the expansion of our factory in Chile to specialize in food with allergens. These projects reinforce our commitment to food improvement.

Expansion of the Megafactory in Colombia

On January 28, we began work on the expansion of our megafactory in Colombia, which is expected to be completed by the end of March. With the expansion of these facilities, we will increase the logistics capacity of the plant, optimizing the manufacturing processes and ensuring that we can meet the growing demand in the Latin American market.

From Frusleva we want to reinforce our commitment to the Latin American market, and consolidate our position as a reference in the production of healthy baby food.

New specialized plant in Chile

Another major initiative for Fruselva is the new allergen food production plant in Chile, which is already a reality after an investment of 2.45 million dollars and thirteen months of construction that began in December 2023. The new factory, located in the industrial complex in Talca, Chile, has a team of more than 500 people and will be dedicated exclusively to the production of food with allergens in pouch format.

Thanks to this new infrastructure and the installation of two complete allergen production lines, we will add 60 million units to our current capacity of more than 350 million, strengthening our distribution in Chile, neighboring markets and our exports to Central America, the United States and Canada.

As our CEO, Javier Hernández, points out, this is a “strategic project for Fruselva that will allow us to offer products for the safe introduction of allergens into the diet, with a specialized factory that avoids cross-contamination risks. We are the first baby food co-manufacturer to offer this solution”. With the initiative of this new specialized factory, we gain in differentiation by offering solutions where innovation, sustainability and food safety are key.
