Fruselva continues to advance in generating knowledge for the development of functional products aimed at improving the health and well-being of the youngest. Along these lines, the company has carried out the project “IMMUNE KIDS. New Infant Formulas to Stimulate the Immune System”, an initiative funded by the Ministerio de Industria, Comercio y Turismo through the Next Generation EU program, within the framework of the PERTE Agroalimentario I call.
The main goal of the IMMUNE KIDS project has been to develop new infant formulas made from fruits and vegetables, designed to support a positive immune response during early childhood — specifically between 4 months and 2 years of age.
Through a strategy based on scientific knowledge and applied research, the project has aimed to harness the benefits of probiotics, postbiotics, and parabiotics, as well as other relevant ingredients, promoting healthier, more sustainable, and more innovative nutrition.
The project focused its efforts on researching biotechnological processes for obtaining postbiotics and parabiotics through sustainable culture media derived from agri-food by-products. In addition, it evaluated the immunomodulatory effects of the compounds obtained, with the goal of identifying those with the greatest potential to promote a positive immune response. Finally, new infant formulations were designed that integrate these compounds along with other ingredients that help strengthen the immune system in the earliest stages of development.
With the IMMUNE KIDS project, Fruselva reaffirms its commitment to innovation, child health, and sustainability, promoting nutritional solutions that enhance children’s well-being and contribute to a healthier future.
